Roma Night held

On the December 23rd, 2021. Association of Roma Novi Becej held the „Roma Night" in Novi Becej as a part of the project "Dancing through Roma history". During the evening, Roma national dresses were exhibited, guests presented the Roma dancing with songs and dances and thank-you certificates were given to Roma women long-term activists and associates of the Association.
Until the 2020 pandemic, the Roma Association Novi Becej regularly organized public marches on December 10th in Novi Becej with the aim of calling on institutions to fight together to respect and non-violate human rights, but this year, due to the pandemic, it organized the Online Conference supported by the OAK Foundation and the Trag Foundation through a project called "One Call Makes a Change."
Association of Roma Novi Becej on December 3rd, 2021 had marked the International Day of persons with disabilities by making and posting the video film on its YouTube channel. Today especially we want to draw attention to problems that persons with disabilities are facing.
Supported by the UNDP under the framework of the project “Integrated response to violence against women and girls in Serbia III”, Association had made series of support videos on services and support given by the Association of Roma Novi Becej.
On the occasions of the National Remembrance Day on women victims of femicide, Association of Roma Novi Becej had posted the billboard in the centre of Novi Becej with the message „Are we aware of how many women annually are murdered in Serbia?“.
Every year on 11 October, the International Day of the Girl, Association of Roma Novi Becej points to difficult position of Roma girls in Roma communities in Banat and Vojvodina. Child and early marriages are reality of Roma girls. End child marriages! Child marriages are ticket to sexual violence against girls!
