Every year on 11 October, the International Day of the Girl, Association of Roma Novi Becej points to difficult position of Roma girls in Roma communities in Banat and Vojvodina. Child and early marriages are reality of Roma girls. More than 58% of Roma girls are married before their 18th birthday, while almost 20% of them had entered the marriage before the age 15.

Association of Roma Novi Becej is the only NGO in Vojvodina influencing on ending such practice and among 5 in entire Serbia. We were affected by this practice and we fight it so that it doesn’t happen to other girls.
