Medica Mondiale Regional Expert Exchange Workshop

Regional Expert Exchange Workshop for and with Medica Mondiale partner organisations in Southeastern Europe, was held in Sarajevo from November 5th to 6th, 2019 with the aim to learn from each other and foster collaboration and regional networkingbetween like-minded organisations.
Organized by the Open Society Foundation (OSF) and the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE), the Fifth Western Balkans Forum is the annual event for national foundations in the Balkans that was held in Novi Sad from 7th to 11th October 2019.
The Institute for Social Protection of the Republic of Serbia, the Association of Roma Novi Becej and the Center for Educational Policies as UNICEF partners in developing mechanisms and interventions for suppressing child marriage at the local level, held the local meeting on 02.07. 2019., in the ceremonial hall of the municipality of Novi Becej.
Activists of the Novi Bečej Roma Association with partner NGO of the Banat Women's Roma Network, the Association of Roma “Danica” Pancevo, participated in closed-type training aimed at organizations that support or advocate for the rights of persons exposed to multiple and intersectional discrimination, with a particular focus on women from multiple marginalized groups.
Danica Jovanovic, President of the Association of Roma Novi Becej, spoke at the Regional Conference “Decade of Roma Inclusion - Legacy, lessons learned, best practices”, held in the period from June 20th to June 21st, 2019., in Belgrade.
The Introductory training for volunteering in the program on ending of child marriages was held in Belgrade, organized by UNICEF Serbia.
On May 29th, 2019. In the Executive Council of Vojvodina, the Declaration on dedication to end the practice of early, contracted and child marriages in Roma communities in Vojvodina was signed. On behalf of the Roma Inclusion Office of Vojvodina, the Declaration was signed by the director Milos Nikolic, and by the Association of Roma New Becej Ms. Zorica Surlan.
