Association of Roma Novi Becej and Roma Women’s Network of Banat on the International Human Rights Day, on December 10th, 2017, and under the global campaign “16 Days of acitivism against violence against women” had organized the Street march and peaceful standing on the Square of Liberation in the Center of Novi Becej with the message „In the name of victims of sexual violence, in the name of girls and women who are raped“.
Thie year`s activity had additional importance having in mind the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. In the peaceful march participants were activists of the Roma Women`s Center “Rromnjako Ilo”, activistis of the Assication of Roma “Danica” Pancevo and Activists of the Association of Roma Novi Becej. The march had sent the following messages:
Equality, justice and freedom prevent violence and keep the peace.
We must stand up for our rights and other human rights.
For rights of girls and women victims of sexual violence and rape.
Human rights are also rights of women survivors of violence.
Stop the rape and sexual violence.
